Girls Gone Glamping

Now that temps are perfect in SoFlo, no need to escape our perfect oasis. The exception will be to take my mother out on an excursion. She dipped her toe in the glamping waters last year on a two night adventure to the East Coast. I dare say she enjoyed herself. Mind you, Sarita has never been camping a day in her life. This time, we will head north. I thought the town of Mount Dora, the first stop on my first solo trip this past fall, would be a great place to explore with my mom. The city retains the flavor of a small town with many historic buildings and its large canopy oak trees, and is known for its variety of antique and specialty shops where we can browse, have some lunch and enjoy a leisurely glass of wine.

I think we will make it a few nights on the road. I have never been to Tarpon Springs home of the historic Sponge Docks. The Sponge Industry helped build a Greek Community that is now famous not only for the worlds finest sponges, but for some of the finest Greek Restaurants, markets, and bakeries in the country. Florida has so much to explore.
I recently joined a new RVing group: Boondockers Welcome. When travelling, I can search the listings for a host that is near our planned route and stay on their property. Rver to Rver networking. So cool. The website provides the details of the hosts that are on our route, including the size of the rig they can accommodate, their general availability, and recommendations from other RVers. Out first night, we will head to a Christmas Tree Farm near Eustice, Florida
Along the way, I found a place that might be perfect to break up the drive.
Bok Tower Gardens and Contemplative Center is also a bird sanctuary and is located in Wales, Florida near the highest elevation in Florida –298 feet above sea level... oh yeah nose bleed. The Tower houses one of the world’s finest carillons. Concerts from the 60 bell carillon at 1 and 3 p.m. fill the Gardens daily. Hopefully lots of photos to come

Landmark that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
