Hold Everything or What's an Invest 99-L?

It's 5am and we are sitting at the table wondering if I should delay the trip. These damn hurricanes! I know I said it was Daniel that messed up our Eastern Seaboard trip in 2015, but I forgot his name was Joaquin. But something unnamed as of yet may head our way. If I left now, I would probably be in the safest place in the country when it hits...3000 ft up in the hills of Tennessee... with no rain predicted, away from all the Midwest's tornados, the West's fires and East's hurricanes. But, I would also be without any communication up in dem der hills and no way to see if Gerard and the kitties are safe and sound.

Everyone says we just get wind and rain and nothing ever really happens here... but better safe than sorry is the adage that best fits or maybe not.... I'd be safer in Tennessee!

So what's an Invest? The term is short for investigation followed by the number 90 through 99 and either the letter "L" for the Atlantic or "E" for the eastern Pacific systems. It's used by the National Hurricane Center to identify the features of a tropical storm. If it becomes a Hurricane, this one will be a gal named Hermine. Gerard would feel a bit better if he knew he had help to put all the yard chotchkies and kayak away before it hits and board up the windows, if we get to that point. Keep your fingers crossed that it all breaks up in the next day or so. My biggest disappointment is that I will miss the live music on Saturday at the Cottage Vineyard in Cleveland, Georgia where I was going to overnight before moving on to Tennessee.

However,I am grateful that we get such advanced warning and am sending prayers up for those in Indiana who lost everything in a flash second by tornado.

I'll stay in vacation mode for today. I've already headed to a salvage antique store.

Scored a little picket fence to use for jewelry display. My sisters are going to love checking this place out when they arrive in December. Over the next few days, I am not without plenty to do. My computer needs organizing and I could start up the kitchen painting project again or I can always just languor by the pool .

I guess the later my departure, the cooler the temps in northern Florida and Georgia.. maybe? Biting at the bit to get to these crystal clear waters.
